Women’s Track & Field athletes place in top-15 in events at Muskingum
NEW CONCORD, Ohio --- Carlow University women's indoor track & field placed fourth at the Muskingum University Muskie Meet No. 4 Friday afternoon.
Every single athlete who competed in their respective events placed in the top-15 for that event.
Molly Wagner led the way with three first place finishes in the 60 (8.03), 200 (26.88) and as part of the 4x400 relay team that included Ella Cloak, Christina Smith and Laci Schwirian. The relay team finished with a time of 4:38.03.
Smith and Sydney Taylor secured first place spots in high jump (1.54 meters) and triple jump, respectively. Smith placed 10th in long jump with a distance of 4.02 meters.
Taylor's leap of 10.42 meters in triple jump was a personal best for the first-year athlete. She also landed a personal best 4.72 meters in long jump to place third in the event.
Malina Hall landed in third with a 9.28 meter leap in triple jump and secured a sixth place spot in long jump (4.38 meters).
Leia Day placed fourth and fifth in high jump and long jump, respectively with marks of 1.39 and 4.52 meters.
Cloak raced to a fifth place finish with a time of 2:37.13 in the 800, while Trista Miller placed seventh and eighth in the 60 (8.47) and 200 (28.33), respectively.
Emma Sovich threw a personal best 9.24 meters in shot put to place eighth, and Schwirian ran 6:27.37 to finish 11th in the mile.
Six NCAA DIII colleges and universities competed at the meet, and Wilmington (Ohio) College garnered the team title with 117 points on the day.
