Celtics sweep United East Women’s Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week honors

LATHAM, N.Y. --- Carlow University athletes Molly Wagner and Tahmie Lord earned United East Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
Wagner, a graduate student from Pleasant Hills, Pa., competed in four events at the Muskingum University Muskie Meet No. 4, including placing first in the 400-meters with a time of 1:02.67 which also tops the United East leaderboards. She then placed second in both the 200-meter and the 4x400 Relay (5:01.55) and earned a fifth place finish in the 60-meter dash (8.28). Alongside her 400-meter ranking, Wagner also ranks first in the conference in the 200-meter and the 60-meter.
Lord, a first-year athlete from Springfield, Va., earned a top five finish in both of her jump events at Muskingum University Friday. In the high jump, she leapt 1.46 meters which set a personal best and earned her fifth place. She then matched fifth place in the long jump at 4.69 meters. Lord currently leads the conference in both events heading into championships this weekend.
This is the first career Athlete of the Week nod for Lord and the third for Wagner.
The Celtics travel to the United East Indoor Track & Field Championships at Prince George's Sports and Learning Complex in Landover, Md. Feb. 28.
