Women’s Indoor Track & Field places third, secures eight podiums at United East Championship
LANDOVER, Md. --- Carlow University women’s indoor track & field placed third of five teams at the United East Championship at the Prince George's Sports and Learning Complex Friday.

The Celtics secured podium spots in eight different events to earn 91 points as a team on the day.
Molly Wagner (Pleasant Hills, Pa./Thomas Jefferson HS) led Carlow with first place finishes in the 60 (7.95) and 200 (26.73). She was also part of the 4x400 relay team that placed second with a time of 4:35.25.
Sydney Taylor (Castle Shannon, Pa./Keystone Oaks HS) improved upon last year's performance with a personal best 10.46-meter leap to place first in triple jump. She landed another podium in long jump with a third place distance of 4.67 meters.
Tahmie Lord (Springfield, Va./West Springfield HS) placed first in long jump with a distance of 4.75 meters and finished fourth in high jump with a leap of 1.35 meters.
Leia Day (Aliquippa, Pa./Hopewell HS) had a repeat performance from last year with a third place finish in high jump (1.40 meters). She placed fourth in triple jump (8.99 meters) and fifth in long jump (4.43 meters).
Mackenna Rankin (New Bethlehem, Pa./Redbank Valley HS) secured Carlow's final podium with a third place finish in the 5k with a time of 23:21.01. She also placed 10th in the mile in 6:52.08.
Trista Miller (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan HS), who was also part of the second-place 4x400 relay team, landed fourth in both the 60 (8.33) and the 200 (27.90). She placed sixth in long jump with a leap of 4.22 meters.
Ella Cloak (New Cumberland, Pa./Trinity HS) ran the 4x400 as well and placed fifth in both the 400 (1:09.48) and 800 (2:59.30). She finished eighth in the 60 with a time of 9.05.
Laci Schwirian (Elizabeth, Pa./Elizabeth Forward HS), the final member of the second-place 4x400 relay team, also landed an eighth place finish in the mile (6:37.49).
Emma Sovich (Freedom, Pa./Ambridge Area HS) rounded out the top 10 finishes for the Celtics with an eighth place throw of 8.89 meters in shot put.
St. Mary's College of Maryland secured the overall team trophy with a score of 203 points.
