Women’s Outdoor Track & Field places 16 in the top-10 at Bob Lewis Classic

Results

FROSTBURG, Md. --- Carlow University women's track & field kicked off the outdoor season placing fourth of five teams at the Bob Lewis Classic, hosted by Frostburg State University Friday.

The Celtics tallied 16 top-10 finishes on the day.

Christina Smith led the way with a first-place leap of 1.50 meters in high jump. Smith was also part of the 4x400 relay team of Ella Cloak, Molly Wagner and Laci Schwirian that placed second with a time of 4:46.54.

Cloak also secured top-10 times in the 400 and 800, placing second and sixth, respectively, while Schwirian landed third in the 3,000 with a time of 13:18.44. Wagner finished fourth and fifth in the 200 and 100, respectively.

Sydney Taylor placed third in triple jump (10.14 meters) and fifth in long jump (4.59 meters), and Leia Day finished third and sixth in high jump and long jump, respectively.

Malina Hall placed sixth in triple jump (9.77 meters) and seventh in long jump (4.39 meters), while Keely Acor threw 26.95 meters in javelin to secure a sixth-place finish.

Mya Waage placed ninth in discus (28.17 meters), and Julia Ogrodowski rounded out the top-10 spots with a 10th place finish in shot put (9.11 meters).

Host Frostburg State secured the team title with a score of 216.5.

The Celtics return to action at the Westminster College Invitational April 13.
