Cloak, Smith sweep AMCC Women’s Track & Field Athlete of the Week honors
NORTH BOSTON, N.Y. --- Carlow University women's outdoor track & field athletes Ella Cloak and Christina Smith swept AMCC Athlete of the Week honors, the league announced Monday.
Cloak, a sophomore from New Cumberland, Pa., was part of the 4x400 relay team that placed second with a time of 4:46.54 at the Bob Lewis Classic, hosted by Frostburg State University Friday. She also secured top-10 times in the 400 (1:05.23) and 800 (2:43.65), placing second and sixth, respectively as the Celtics kicked off the outdoor season placing fourth of five teams at the meet.
Smith, a senior from Oil City, Pa., led the Celtics with a first-place leap of 1.50 meters in high jump and was also part of the 4x400 relay team. She earned AMCC Athlete of the Week honors twice during indoor season.
The Celtics return to action at the Westminster College Invitational April 13.
