Taylor, Wagner earn USCAA Track & Field Athlete of the Week honors

PITTSBURGH --- Carlow University women's track & field athletes Sydney Taylor and Molly Wagner each earned USCAA Athlete of the Week honors, the association announced Tuesday.

Taylor, a first-year student from Castle Shannon, Pa., secured a sixth-place finish in triple jump with a distance of 10.38 meters and placed 11th in long jump with a leap of 10.38 meters.

Wagner, a senior from Pittsburgh, Pa., placed fourth and fifth in the 100 and 200 with times of 12.65 and 26.28, respectively.

Taylor and Wagner were both part of the 4x100 relay team that finished third with a time of 51.74. Wagner also earned AMCC Athlete of the Week honors for her performance Saturday.

The Celtics competed against 16 other colleges and universities across all three NCAA divisions, placing 12th as a team at the 54th Annual Sparky Adams Invitational, hosted by Baldwin Wallace University April 20.

Next up for the Celtics is the USCAA Championship April 26 and 27 in Springfield, Mass. Athletes must meet qualifying marks to be entered into their respective events.
