Cooper, Hess sweep USCAA Women's Volleyball Division I Player of the Week honors
PITTSBURGH --- Carlow University women's volleyball athletes Megan Cooper and Rebecca Hess swept USCAA Division I Player of the Week awards, the association announced Tuesday.
Cooper, a senior opposite side hitter from North Canton, Ohio, earned USCAA Specialist of the Week honors after the Celtics went 1-1 in back-to-back games against nonconference opponents last week.
She tallied six blocks and 11 kills.
Hess, a sophomore outside hitter from New Alexandria, Pa., was named the USCAA Player of the Week.
She recorded 12 kills in a 3-0 sweep of Penn State Shenango Sept. 21 and added a double-double 13 kills and 17 digs in a tough 3-2 loss to Salem (W.Va.) Sept. 20.
The Celtics travel to Thiel College for a tri-match Sept. 29.
