Women’s Volleyball sweeps Pitt Bradford on Senior Day

PITTSBURGH --- Carlow University women's volleyball celebrated Senior Day with a 3-0 sweep of Pitt Bradford Saturday.
The Celtics (9-14, 1-6 AMCC) snapped a four-game losing streak with their first sweep since Oct. 2 over the visiting Panthers (4-19, 1-6 AMCC).
Prior to the match, the Celtics celebrated seven seniors: Meghan Alexander, Hayley Barry, Taylor Claypoole, Megan Cooper, Angel Klein, Javonna Perkins and Claire Yezovich.

Rebecca Hess recorded a double-double with a game-high 13 kills and 14 digs to lead the Celtics.
Alison Humberston hit .579 with 11 kills and no errors, and Yezovich tallied four of Carlow's nine service aces on the day.
The Panthers started out with a 5-2 advantage to begin the game, but the Celtics went on a 9-1 run to gain an 11-7 lead.
Carlow went on a 10-4 run to end the first set with a 25-16 win.
The Celtics hit a blistering .800 in the second set without committing a single attack error to win, 25-8.
The Panthers fared somewhat better in the third set, trading leads with Carlow early and trailing by one point midway through the set.
The Celtics put together an 8-3 run to lead, 18-12, and a 7-3 run ended the third set, 25-18, in their favor.
Carlow saw its best complete game hitting percentage all season with a .396.
Jenna Louser led the Panthers with four kills and three blocks.
Carlow hosts Mount Aloysius for a 7 p.m. game Oct. 31.
