Alexander, Humberston sweep USCAA Women's Volleyball Division I Player of the Week honors

PITTSBURGH --- Carlow University women's volleyball athletes Meghan Alexander and Alison Humberston swept USCAA Division I Player of the Week awards, the association announced Tuesday.

Alexander, a senior setter from Harrison City, Pa., earned USCAA Specialist of the Week honors for the third time this season.

She tallied 44 assists and covered well behind Carlow's blockers, leading the team with 27 digs as the Celtics went 2-0 against conference opponents on the week.

Humberston, a junior from Uniontown, Pa., was named USCAA Player of the Week.

She tallied 34 kills with a .250 hitting percentage while also recording four blocks. Humberston also earned Allegheny Mountain College Conference Player of the Week Monday for her efforts this past week.

The Celtics face Bay Path (Mass.) University at 11:30 a.m. for USCAA Championship pool play at Penn State Fayette Nov. 9.
