Women’s Volleyball draws No. 3 seed in USCAA Championship Tournament

PITTSBURGH --- Carlow University women's volleyball was selected as the No. 3 seed in the 2023 USCAA Championship Tournament.

It is Carlow's third trip in a row to nationals and the team's ninth trip in the past 11 years. Last year, the Celtics were also ranked third and finished third in the nation.

The Celtics face Bay Path (Mass.) University at 11:30 a.m. for USCAA Championship pool play at Penn State Fayette Nov. 9.

Carlow ended the regular season 11-14 overall and is riding a three-game winning streak heading into the tournament.

Sophomore outside hitter Rebecca Hess is second in the USCAA with 303 total kills and ranks fifth with 264 digs on the season.

Senior setter Meghan Alexander ranks second in the league with an average 7.55 assists per set, while teammate Alison Humberston, a junior outside hitter, ranks fourth in the association with 249 kills.

Freshman defensive specialist Kelsey Sufak is fifth in the USCAA with an average 0.54 service aces per set.

The Celtics are averaging 11.07 kills, 15.11 digs, 2.07 service aces and 1.51 blocks per set heading into the tournament.

The Bay Path Wildcats are the No. 2 seed in the tournament, averaging 9.72 kills, 13.21 digs, 2.47 service aces and 1.51 blocks per set heading into pool play against the Celtics.

Anastasiya Tsetsko leads the USCAA with a .328 hitting percentage. She is fourth in the league with an average 3.44 kills per set and fifth with 248 total kills this season.

Mckenzie Labier ranks fifth in the association with an average 0.72 blocks per set, while teammate Zyiasia Knighton ranks fourth with an average 4.20 digs per set.

Lilly Kibbe is fourth in the USCAA with an average 0.61 service aces per set this year.
