Three Women’s Volleyball players earn USCAA All-American First Team honors

PITTSBURGH --- Three Carlow University women's volleyball players earned USCAA All-American First Team honors, the association announced Wednesday.

Senior setter Meghan Alexander, sophomore outside hitter Rebecca Hess and senior middle hitter Javonna Perkins each earned a first team nod for the Celtics.

Alexander leads the team and is second in the USCAA with an average 7.45 assists per set so far this season. Hess leads the team and is currently second in the league with 323 total kills, while Perkins is second on the team with 53 blocks and third with 218 kills so far this year.

The USCAA also announced its All-Academic team awards at the banquet held Nov. 8.

To be eligible for the All-Academic Team, student-athletes must be sophomores or above with a 3.5 cumulative grade point average or higher.

The following student-athletes earned that distinction for the Celtics:

Carlow continues USCAA Championship action with a semifinal game against the University of Maine Fort Kent at 2 p.m. Nov. 10.
