Three Women’s Volleyball players named USCAA All-Americans, seven earn All-Academic honors
PITTSBURGH --- Three Carlow University women’s volleyball athletes earned USCAA All-American honors and seven were named to the All-Academic Team, the association announced Nov. 6.

Junior outside hitter Rebecca Hess (New Alexandria, Pa./Greensburg Central Catholic) earned All-American First Team honors, while senior outside hitter Alison Humberston (Uniontown, Pa./Laurel Highlands HS) and graduate middle hitter Javonna Perkins (Pittsburgh, Pa./Obama Academy) earned second team honors.
Hess led the Celtics and the USCAA with 351 digs, and led the team and ranked fourth in the USCAA with 281 kills this season. She ranked third in the nation with an average 3.90 digs per set.
Humberston was second on the team and ranked sixth in the USCAA with 264 kills, and Perkins led the team and ranked third in the nation with 66 blocks on the year.
The USCAA also announced its All-Academic team awards Nov. 6. To be eligible for the All-Academic Team, student-athletes must be sophomores or above with a 3.5 cumulative grade point average or higher.
