Schwirian leads Women’s Cross Country at Allegheny Classic

MEADVILLE, Pa. --- Sophomore Laci Schwirian led Carlow University women's cross country at the Allegheny College Classic Saturday.

Schwirian ran the three-mile course in 21:39 to place 15th of 37 runners on the day.

Ella Cloak ran 22:51, while Katelyn Stivers finished in 24:07. Newcomer Claire Stevens ran 26:50 in her first collegiate race.

Host Allegheny and Chatham University were the only full teams registered in the event, with La Roche, Thiel, Carlow, Penn State Fayette and Penn State DuBois all sending individual runners.

Allegheny's Celia Cocca won the race at 18:59, and Allegheny claimed eight of the top 10 spots to take home the team trophy.

The Celtics return to action at the Penn State Fayette Roaring Lions Invitational Saturday, Sept. 23.
