Women’s Cross Country tackles Carnegie Mellon Invitational

PITTSBURGH --- Carlow University women's cross country competed in the challenging Carnegie Mellon University Invitational Saturday.

The Celtics tackled several hills along the Schenley Park course, matching up against 77 runners from NCAA DI, II, III and NAIA schools.

Laci Schwirian finished in the top 50 percent of the field with a time of 21:48.2.

Ella Cloak finished at 23:02.0, while Katelyn Stivers and Claire Stevens crossed the finish line at 23:59.4 and 26:29.4 respectively.

Host Carnegie Mellon took the team honors with a score of 60, and Cal U's Malia Anderson led the pack with an 18:36.1 finish.

The Celtics travel to the La Roche Invitational Oct. 20.
