Women’s Soccer scores comeback victory over Pitt Bradford on Senior Day

PITTSBURGH --- Carlow University women's soccer scored two goals late in the second half to secure a 3-2 victory over Pitt Bradford in AMCC action at Highmark Stadium Saturday night.

The Panthers (5-3-2, 0-2-1 AMCC) led early after two goals from Avery Yard at 4' and 32'.

Harley Vincler (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park HS) cut Pitt Bradford's lead in half on a free kick from over 30 yards out that sailed over the goalkeeper's head in the 35th minute.

Trailing 2-1 after halftime, the Celtics (3-6-1, 2-1 AMCC) outshot the Panthers 10-1 in the second half.

Jenna McGuinness (North Huntington, Pa./Norwin HS/Seton Hill University) found Anna Gribik (Clarion, Pa./Clarion Area HS) on a cross for her first goal of the season that tied the game, 2-2, in the 62nd minute.

McGuinness landed the game-winner at 74' with the assist from Arley Wilson (Connellsville, Pa./Connellsville Area HS), and Lyndsey Szekely (North Huntington, Pa./Greensburg Central Catholic) earned the complete game win with three stops in net.

The Celtics held an 8-3 corner kick advantage and outshot the Panthers 23-6 on the night.

Prior to the match, Carlow celebrated seven seniors for Senior Day.

The Celtics return to action with a 2 p.m. match against Bryant & Stratton Syracuse at Highmark Stadium Oct. 7.
